This position requires a Nurse with appropriate and valid registration with theNMC and experience of working with individuals who use alcohol or substances.
Ourclients present with complex needs and a multitude of both physical andpsychological challenges. We offer excellent in-house training as well as thechance of further courses once the probationary period is completedsatisfactorily.
Good communication skills both written and verbal are essential. Confidence to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key role responsibilities include:
Via Cheshire West & Chester deliver high quality services including specialist prescribing services, rapid access to treatment, and other health and wellbeing interventions to better equip individuals to improve their physical and mental health.
Role Purpose
Todeliver excellent drug and alcoholservices to those who use our services and theirsignificant others, includingfamily members friends and carers, to facilitate positive outcomes.
Where indicated, undertake communityalcohol detoxification, support Opiate detoxification and titration in thecommunity and refer for specialist inpatient services including liaising withhospital and inpatient unit staff.
Support outreach work acrossthe borough, particularly around alcohol misuse.
Lead on Harm Reduction approacheswithin the service, including helping to reduce the spread of BBVs via testingand immunization schemes.
Deliver general healthcare support,including Wound Care, ECGs, healthcare assessments, and other similar activity.
Undertake basic life support and anaphylaxis training so you are confident and competent to manage a medicalemergency including the administration of emergency drugs.

Deliver evidence-based clinical andpsychosocial one-to-one and group interventions as part of an effectively integratedcare package. Take an assertive approach to service user disengagement.
Deliver harm reduction advice,guidance and education. To include blood borne virus interventions, incl screening,vaccination and treatment access, and overdose prevention including naloxoneprograms, health and wellbeing screening brief and facilitated signposting andreferral to partner services, including primary care.
Enable people to access education and employmentservices and health, wellbeing and recovery support activities and to signpostto other available services.
Support students, volunteers, peermentors and service user representatives to take an active part in Viaservices.
Identify risks and take appropriateaction in accordance with local, national and organisational Safeguardingpolicies, contributing to multi-disciplinary review meetings.
Maintain accurate and timely recordsusing the designated case management system in compliance with Via InformationGovernance policies and procedures.
Work flexibly, including across multiplesites and peripatetically when required.
