Job description

Role: Health & Safety Officer

Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

Hours: Mon - Thurs 08:30am - 5pm, Friday 08:30am - 4:30pm

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000

My client is a family-run business just outside of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, and we are currently recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Health, Safety and Compliance Officer who is passionate and committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

What will you be doing in the health & safety officer role?

  • Motivate staff to adhere to health and safety practices
  • Performance monitoring and compliance
  • Collating statistical information for health and safety management
  • Evidence compliance within auditing
  • Undertake inspections on site and working at heights
  • Present information in forms, tables, and spreadsheets
  • Development of a robust management system and assisting the directors in finding the right strategy for H&S moving forward and supporting the Senior Staff to lead the H&S initiatives

What we would like from you:

  • NEBOSH L3 qualification or equivalent
  • Fire Safety IOSH
  • Strong background in Warehouse, Logistics, and manufacturing
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects
  • Experience of collaborating with all levels to create and maintain H&S policies, processes, and risk assessments
  • Policy/Process/Quality Control knowledge
