Health & Safety Manager
Nationwide position

  • Full time, permanent
  • GBP50,000 - GBP55,000 per annum

The Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Manager to take full ownership of H&S compliance across the company. You ll play a vital role in shaping a safety-first culture, leading audits, driving ISO standards, and supporting teams across the business. Reporting to the Group QHSE Manager, you will be a trusted advisor and leader in all things health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance with ISO45001:2018 and legal requirements
  • Lead continuous improvement programs aligned with ISO 4001:2018
  • Manage internal and external H&S audits
  • Ensure correct accident and RIDDOR reporting
  • Conduct trend analysis and recommend improvements
  • Oversee Risk Assessments, COSHH reviews, and Safety Data Sheets
  • Support the training team on H&S induction and awareness
  • Promote a strong, proactive health and safety culture
  • Liaise with HSE and other regulatory bodies
  • Drive H&S elements of mobilisation/demobilisation projects
  • Report on near misses, pregnancy risk assessments, and more

Our client is looking for a hands-on safety expert who brings both technical knowledge and people skills to the table. You ll be someone who thrives on accountability, attention to detail, and collaboration. About you:

  • In-depth knowledge of H&S law and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
  • NEBOSH General Certificate / IOSH Managing Safely qualification
  • Experience in ISO accreditation standards and audits
  • Confidence in mobilising/demobilising contracts
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel & Word essential)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A methodical and meticulous approach
  • Experience working with staff at all levels, from frontline to senior managers
  • Tenacity, initiative, and the ability to perform under pressure
