Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor

Location: Sherburn-in-Elmet

Type: Permanent Days, Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £40k + benefits

Are you a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor looking for your next exciting opportunity?

Our internationally renowned client has a fantastic opportunity for a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to drive change in safety culture and help lead this business on its continuous improvement journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular visits to our partner Company in Dudley, focusing on supporting and integrating all Health, Safety & Environment systems to align with the Group strategy.
  2. Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify potential hazards and assess risks in the manufacturing environment.
  3. Develop Safety Policies: Create and implement safety policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks.
  4. Safety Training: Provide training and education to employees on safety practices and procedures.
  5. Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
  6. Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  7. Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  8. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
  9. Reporting: Prepare and submit safety reports, incident reports, and compliance documentation to the Group Head of EHS Compliance.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess the Following:
  1. Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety role, ideally in heavy manufacturing.
  2. NEBOSH certification.
  3. Membership of a relevant professional body, such as IOSH or IIRSM.
  4. Experience in implementing management systems to ISO45001 & 14001 standards.
  5. Experience in implementing & carrying out H&S training.
  6. Ability to carry out risk assessments.
  7. Strong understanding of local, national, and industry-specific safety regulations and standards.

As the Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor, you will work standard days Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, with a Friday finish at 2.30pm. You can expect a salary of up to £40k + benefits, including 33-34 days holiday!
