Job Title: SHEQ Co-Ordinator
Location: Midlands

About Us:
My client is a leading construction company specializing in Civil Engineering, industrial, commercial, and automotive projects and fit-out. Their projects range from £10k up to £8m, including some of the most innovative and sustainable developments in the industry. They pride themselves on quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and excellence on every project.

Position Overview:
The construction company is looking for a SHEQ Coordinator who will drive Health and Safety Excellence and the goals of the business, ensuring they are at the forefront of daily activities and implementing best practices throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Attend site meetings as the SHEQ representative.
  2. Assist the business in maintaining high levels of SHEQ and accreditations such as Achilles Building Confidence, ConstructionLine Gold, and Safe Contractor.
  3. Provide effective and high-quality health and safety advice to all employees and communicate this regularly and proactively.
  4. Produce Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements in conjunction with the operations team.
  5. Champion Health and Safety on site.
  6. Carry out Toolbox Talks with site delivery teams.
  7. Review the Training Matrix for employees and update as required.
  8. Inform Management and Site Teams of any or all changes to legislation.
  9. Carry out site and office inspections/audits in conjunction with site supervision.
  10. Support and promote accident/incident reporting in line with internal policies and procedures.
  11. Support the Integrated Management System to maintain compliance and ensure continual improvement of systems.
  12. Assist with accident/incident investigations where applicable.
  13. Carry out internal audits on the Integrated Management System and its supporting processes/procedures at planned intervals to determine whether the management system conforms to the requirements of the business and ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001.
  14. Produce reports identifying shortfalls within current business operations.
  15. Assist Business Development with sub-contractor vetting.
  16. Assist Senior Management in the preparation, review, and updating of policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  17. Other tasks as required/directed by Senior Management.

Qualifications and Experience:

IOSH/NEBOSH National General Certificate / NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health & Safety.
