Job Description

We would like to present you with an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our Health & Safety team at our Banbury site on a full time permanent basis.

Salary: £29,000-£31,500 per annum.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.

As a Health & Safety Coordinator you will work closely with our internal Health and Safety, Quality and compliance teams to ensure the company maintains all required certifications (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001) and is legally compliant in all its health, safety and quality activities.

Key Duties of a Health & Safety Coordinator:

  • Implementing improvement actions raised in connection with MAH (Major Accident Hazard).
  • Ensuring a suitable risk assessment process to establish MAH scenarios is implemented.
  • Keeping control and records for appointed contractors and planned site maintenance.
  • Managing waste disposal and site hygiene.
  • Ensuring that an effective competence management system is maintained.
  • Understanding and maintaining all aspects of a Health and Safety Management System.
  • Ensuring plant and machinery are safe to use and legally compliant.
  • Provide guidance and advice to the region on compliance with all statutory requirements and company standards.
  • Undertake risk assessments relating to SHEQ as required.
  • To support managers in Health and Safety Risk Assessments / COSHH Assessments to ensure that legislative standards are met or exceeded.
  • To participate in Health, Safety and Environmental training for established staff and provide induction training for all new entrants including agency staff.
  • Understanding and advising on current H&S legislation, guidance and best practice.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation, good working practices, Regulatory inspections/servicing compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 is advantageous.
  • Experience applying Root Cause and Trend Analysis would be desirable.
  • PC literate with a sound working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Good time management skills with the ability and desire to solve problems.
  • Self-motivated with a keen desire to participate as a pro-active member of the team.
  • Keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • IOSH qualified would be preferable.
