About The RoleYou will be part of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team, reporting to the HSW Strategic Lead. You will be partnered with one of our Directorates, helping them to embed the HSW Management System whilst delivering the important services they offer to residents of North Northamptonshire.
The HSW Team have recently moved into the Public Health and Wellbeing Directorate, which offers incredible opportunities for development around the wellbeing aspects of the role.
This is a hybrid working role, with travel across Northamptonshire locations as required.
You will be helping to keep our colleagues and others, healthy and balanced in a safe environment.
What will you be doing?- Contributing to the development and implementation of the Corporate HSW Plan and HSW Management System
- Leading the development and achievement of Directorate HSW Improvement Plans with senior leaders
- Advising our leaders on how to comply with the HSW Management system and legal requirements
- Delivering training and presentations on a range of HSW areas
- Monitoring accident and incident reporting and investigation; leading on these where necessary
- Reporting RIDDOR reportable events
- Working in partnership with Trade Union colleagues on HSW matters
- Analysing various HSW data, preparing and presenting reports
- Developing and delivering an audit programme across your Directorate
- Collaborating with colleagues across the council to identify and address common areas of concern / interest
About YouWe are very open to applications from anyone who believes they have what it takes to deliver an excellent HSW service. You will be supported with your development and will be working with a team of experienced HSW professionals. There are a few things we will need from you:
- A NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, equivalent or higher
- A good level of experience and confidence working in complex organisations
- Highly organised and able to lead and, or support multiple projects and workstreams
- Highly motivated and open minded
- Confident in the use of Microsoft office applications, and ideally, with experience of H&S management software
- If you’re coming from a H&S background, you're open to developing as a wellbeing professional also
