Job Title: Health & Safety and Environment Manager

Location: South East London, with occasional travel to other sites in SE London and Kent

Contract Details: Permanent - Full Time

Salary: £55,000 per annum

Hours: 36 hours per week

About Our Client: Our client is a leading healthcare provider who is committed to making a difference in patients' lives, with a reputable and well-regarded name in the industry and local community. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a dedicated and skilled Health, Safety, and Environment Manager to join their team to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff, patients, and visitors while also monitoring and reducing our environmental impact.

Role Overview: The Health & Safety and Environment Manager is crucial in managing the organisation's health and safety practices and monitoring its environmental footprint. This role ensures that our client implements policies to create a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. You will be responsible for reviewing and enhancing health and safety and environmental practices at all sites and across their retail stores.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert Health and Safety advice, assistance, and support to all levels of the organisation.
  2. Ensure that the organisation is implementing policies and procedures that create a safe environment for all employees, patients, and visitors.
  3. Support the monitoring and reduction of the organisation's environmental impact, recommending and overseeing measures to improve sustainability.
  4. Conduct or coordinate regular health and safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all sites.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues in specialist areas to ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and best practice.
  6. Assist in the development and delivery of health and safety training programmes for staff.
  7. Keep abreast of industry regulations and trends, ensuring the organisation remains compliant and proactive in its approach.

Skills and Experience:

  1. Strong knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations and environmental impact management.
  2. Previous experience in a health and safety or environmental role, ideally within a healthcare or multi-site environment.
  3. Ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  5. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  6. Relevant qualifications in Health and Safety (e.g. NEBOSH, Chartered IOSH) and/or Environmental Management.
