The role

As a Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) Advisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will deliver improvement plans and ensure compliance with Cavendish Nuclear Health and Safety arrangements.

Day-to-day, you’ll submit weekly reports to the HSE Manager detailing duties undertaken.

• Conduct health and safety audits and inspections for compliance.
• Provide HSE advice and guidance to line management on safe working practices.
• Develop safe systems of work and risk assessments considering relevant hazards.
• Write and circulate health and safety reports, identifying non-compliance and areas for improvement.

This full-time role requires 37 hours per week and can be based at our sites in either Heysham, Lancashire, or Hartlepool, County Durham. The role covers eight sites and requires variable travel to northern sites, typically around four days per week on-site/traveling. A hire car will be provided as needed when working away from the base site, as well as accommodation and reasonable travel expenses. There is potential for one day per week to be worked from home.

Essential Experience Of The HSE Advisor

• Proven operational health and safety experience, ideally within the nuclear industry.
• Proficient in the application and understanding of ISO45001 standards.
• Previous auditing experience.

Qualifications For The HSE Advisor

• Level 3 NEBOSH General Certificate.
• Internal auditor.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
