Health Promotion & Communications Coordinator (with IT support)
The Coordinator within the Kingfisher PCN Additional Roles Team is viewed as a significant opportunity. This pivotal role ensures all patients receive the best possible care and services available. The Health Promotion and Communications Coordinator will support the clinical directors in the coordination and delivery of key PCN DES targets, with a large focus on IT support. The Coordinator will possess excellent communication, administration, IT, and organizational skills, working directly with the PCN Management Team and clinicians across the PCN.
Main Duties
The health promotion and communications element of the role will include:
- Coordination of patient engagement activities across the PCN, including public-facing organization of events and health promotional activity.
- Leading and evolving patient and public engagement via the Patient and Public Engagement Group (PPG) in partnership with the PCN Director and Clinical Directors.
- Overarching coordination and day-to-day management/optimization of PCN and practice websites.
- Overarching coordination and day-to-day management/optimization of social media platforms.
- IT support across the PCN, specializing in bespoke software such as Emis, Docman, ICE, and liaising with IT support.
- Coordination and management of public-facing PCN newsletters, optimizing all opportunities to engage.
- Optimizing relationships across local partners to ensure patients and their families are maximizing local opportunities/services.
- Support PCN practices to ensure relevant health promotional activities are maximized.

Kingfisher Primary Care Network (PCN) is a collaboration between 5 GP practices across 6 sites in Redditch Town, serving a shared population of approximately 60,000 patients. Our practices have a mature relationship and a proven track record of effectively working together over many years.
Job Responsibilities
Job Title: Health Promotion and Communications Coordinator (with a focus on IT support)
Salary: In line with indicative band 4, dependent on experience
Hours: Up to 37 hours/week, for individual negotiation
Accountability: Operationally accountable to GPs within the PCN and the Clinical Directors; day-to-day accountability to the PCN Manager; managerially accountable to the PCN Director.
Job Purpose
The Health Promotion and Communications Coordinator will:
- Support Quality and Outcome frameworks and other National targets as required.
- Work collaboratively with other teams and services to maintain an effective and efficient service.
- Be responsible for the collation of Covid vaccine orders and stock take of vaccines and their delivery to our practices.
- Plan/organize work using own initiative while being able to work as a valuable team member.
- Add appointment templates and supervision slots (if required) for all PCN clinical staff.
- Use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients, carers, families, and colleagues.
- Complete mandatory training.
- Participate in the review and appraisal process.
- Use clinical systems for record keeping, audit, and evaluation.
- Provide support with digital transformation and offer IT/System support across our sites.
- Ensure all social media pages are up-to-date, informative, and engaging.
- Build key relationships across PCN personnel and the wider team.
- Provide coordination and navigation for people and their carers across health and care services, alongside Social Prescribing link workers and other primary care roles.
- Support the coordination and delivery of MDTs within PCNs as required.
- Focus on patients and provide necessary support to fulfill effective personalized care requirements.
- Help patients manage their needs, answering queries and supporting them to make appointments, promoting patient independence and autonomy wherever possible.
- Coordinate key meetings (including for care home residents and frail/vulnerable people living in their own homes) and ensure good communication between professionals.
- Liaise with multi-agencies to coordinate pathways of care for patients.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- ECDL or equivalent. Diploma/HNC level (or relevant experience).
- NVQ Level 2 Business Administration (or relevant experience). Demonstrable commitment to professional and personal development.
Management and Administrative Experience
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively. Ability to exercise sound judgment when faced with conflicting pressures.
- Sound IT knowledge, including internet, Outlook, Word, Excel, and social media platforms.

Experience
- Sound knowledge/experience in promotional activity and managing social media platforms.
- Experience of working with healthcare professionals or previous experience in the NHS, social care, or a relevant field (including unpaid work). Experience in data collection and providing monitoring information to assess the impact of services. Experience in partnership/collaborative working and building relationships across various organizations. Experience of working with or in general practice. Knowledge/familiarity with medical terminology.
- Sound knowledge or experience of IT systems and troubleshooting.
- Experience of supporting people, their families, and carers in a related role (including unpaid work). Experience in the use of databases.
