Health Economics Graduate (1-year fixed term)

The Position

Join our Health Economics team and help drive reimbursement strategies for key clinical biomarkers in the UK and Ireland. You'll support the creation of health economic models and assist with crucial submissions to NICE and other health assessment bodies.

Work on impactful projects across Cardiac and Critical Care, Oncology, Women's Health, Neurology, Infectious Disease, and Diabetes. Gain broad expertise in diagnostics, access challenges, care pathways, and health policies.

Requirements:

  • Strong grasp of economic evaluation principles with hands-on experience in creating health economic models
  • Excellent communication skills, thriving in complex, networked environments
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects across various disease areas
  • Work closely with local and global teams in Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Public Affairs

Main Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Supporting the Health Economics team in evidence synthesis, modelling, parameterisation to quantify the economic value of Roche Diagnostics’ technologies. Where necessary, conduct local adaptation of Globally-developed health economics tools
  • Support multifunctional disease areas team and share knowledge to support decision making with pre and post launch activities
  • Communicate complex technical ideas and arguments in ways which healthcare professionals and Roche Diagnostics teams can readily understand
  • Develop and maintain individual skills and technical knowledge to company standards and actively seek out opportunities for personal and team development

Person Specification

  • First degree BA/BSC or equivalent qualification in life sciences, health service research or a clinical discipline is essential
  • A Masters or PhD degree in Health Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Mathematical Modelling is desirable
  • A willingness to travel nationally (<30%) is desirable
  • Graduate level experience in Health Economics in a healthcare setting, ideally within the medical device sector, is desirable

Required Competencies

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of economic evaluation concepts
  • Working knowledge of the role of health economics within the NHS and Health Technology Industry
  • Proficient use of Excel and PowerPoint is essential. Working knowledge of R is desirable
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Individual experience in building budget impact/cost effectiveness models from inception to completion
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with committed attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
