Job description

Health Care of the Older Person Physiotherapist - Rotational

Are you a passionate and motivated Band 5 Physiotherapist ready to take the next step in your career? Or perhaps you're an experienced Band 6 seeking a fresh and rewarding challenge? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

We're looking for a dynamic and HCPC-registered Physiotherapist to join our friendly, supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a forward-thinking environment where you can make a real difference to patients' lives.

If you're enthusiastic about delivering high-quality, person-centred, evidence-based care, and have a solid background in frailty, rehabilitation, and elderly care, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We're happy to arrange an informal chat and site tour to help you decide if this is the right fit for you.

Main Duties of the Job

Your primary base will be ward-based at Torbay Hospital, where you'll enjoy the variety of 6-monthly rotations, including a contribution to our 7-day service.

One of these rotations will be community-based within intermediate care, providing urgent care responses. In addition, inpatient rotations may involve home visits or discharge assessments as part of facilitating smooth patient discharges.

You'll also have the opportunity to rotate through A&E, community settings, and some acute wards, allowing you to broaden your experience across a range of clinical environments.

You will provide expert physiotherapy interventions for older patients in both hospital and community settings.

You will lead and support junior physiotherapists, assistants, and students, while working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic patient care.

You will play a key role in discharge planning and rehabilitation strategies, contributing to an integrated 7-day service that improves patient outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to service development and engage in research opportunities.

About Us

Our Physiotherapy team is committed to supporting your professional and personal growth. We offer career development conversations, clinical supervision, and access to CPD opportunities to help you thrive.

You will become part of a welcoming and dedicated team where every individual is valued. With the full support of our experienced leadership team and an active peer network, you'll have the opportunity to create and follow a career development plan tailored to your ambitions.

We prioritise staff wellbeing, offering beautiful breakout areas, including the tranquil rose garden at Torbay Hospital, outdoor seating areas, staff rooms, and cafeteria facilities for your relaxation and lunch breaks.

Torbay is a stunning coastal region in South Devon, offering an exceptional lifestyle alongside a rewarding career. Known as the "English Riviera," the area boasts beautiful beaches and picturesque harbours making it an ideal place to live and work.

Living and working in Torbay means being part of a welcoming community, with excellent local amenities, vibrant culture, and easy access to Exeter and beyond.
