An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join Baildon Medical Practice. Due to retirement, we are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join our experienced nursing team to work full time alongside our clinical team. Please do not apply if you have not got any experience of working in general practice previously.
Undertake new patient health checks
Support the practice nurse with healthpromotion programmes
Carry out baseline observations such aspulse oximitery, blood pressure, temperature and pulse rate, recording findingsaccurately
Facilitate routine and 24-hour BPmonitoring, advising patients accordingly
Undertake wound care, dressings andother clinical tasks as required
Support the practice nurse with themanagement of chronic disease clinics
Carry out BMI checks as directed
Act as a chaperone as required
Undertake venepuncture
Administer fluvaccinations
Carry out ECGs
Ensure specimens are recorded and readyfor onward transportation
Provide support during minor operationsas required
Ensure all clinical rooms are adequatelystocked and prepared for each session
Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely inaccordance with extant guidance
Ensure clinical waste is removed fromclinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the organisationsIPC policy
Deliveropportunistic health promotion where appropriate

Baildon Medical Practice is a purpose-built practice located in a quiet rural village within easy commute of Shipley, Bingley, Keighley and North Leeds.
