Our long standing client, leaders in their industry are looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join their ever growing team!
Health and Safety Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
Legal compliance, reporting and implementing Company HSE standards across the Fairford and Eastleigh sites
Acting as primary contact in dealing with regulatory agencies, and trains management to understand HSE regulations and standards
Preparing for, hosting and actioning any corrective actions or viable suggestions from internal and external audits and managing a regular schedule of internal inspections.
The health and safety induction of all new team members and the ongoing provision of HSE training and development including the design and delivery an annual HSE plan, emergency procedures and workplace safety
Acting as ISO45001 Health & Safety Management Representative and is responsible for maintaining certification
Acting as chair of the Sites’ HSE committee and ensuring that outputs are widely communicated
Act as Subject Matter Expert in areas of HS&E, challenging the businesses to continuously do the right thing and put safety first, displaying the highest ethical standards
Track and report leading and lagging HSE indicators, presenting at monthly ‘Town Hall’ and management reviews, with trackable action plans. Provide further data for regional reporting as required by the Site Directors
Support other UK sites and provide emergency cover for colleagues as necessary
Drive and track sustainability improvements - with longer term specific goals around net zero and zero single use plastic in our businesses
Serve as integral member of wider UK and global HSE team, contributing to wider projects and opportunities for collaboration, shared learning and efficiency
The ideal Health and Safety Manager will:
Able to demonstrate leadership experience in an HSE management role
Minimum 3 years in HSE management role with industrial background
Comprehensive knowledge of HSE legislation, guidance and best practice
Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate, as minimum, or equivalent professional qualification
Able to demonstrate a successful track record of working proactively in a manufacturing environment
Positive, enthusiastic with a track record of making significant improvements in their areas of expertise
Able to demonstrate ability to persuade and influence at a senior level and uphold safety above all else
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
Data driven with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Working Hours and Benefits:
7:30-17:00 Mon-Thurs, 07:30-11:30 Friday
