CMSE qualified Health and Safety Manager required to oversee all aspects of risk assessment and machinery compliance within a busy automated solutions provider environment.

Our client has been established for almost a quarter of a century and is recognized as a market leader in the provision of bespoke innovative materials handling and automation solutions to a diverse range of clients and industry sectors throughout the UK. As a result of continued success and an ongoing program of exciting strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced CMSE qualified Senior Health & Safety professional to complement their dynamic and professional team.

Working out of prestigious offices in Nottingham, the successful candidate will thrive within a technology-focused solutions environment and will be responsible for a range of duties that will include (but not be limited to):

  1. Technical leadership
  2. Conducting and assisting with machine risk assessments during the design phase to ensure Machinery Directive requirements are met and assisting projects during the development and installation phases in order to ensure that all H&S and safety rules, guidelines, and policies are understood and adhered to at all times.
  3. Reviewing all aspects of machinery compliance on an ongoing basis and supporting the design team to ensure adherence to relevant machine design directives, UKCA/CE marking, and applicable international standards.
  4. Assisting in the creation and maintenance of associated machinery documentation and manuals and verifying information detailed therein once design pass-off is achieved.
  5. Liaising with the design team and other departments as required, utilizing excellent communication and influencing skills to ensure safety systems are integrated and risks are assessed and adequately managed.
  6. Liaising with the customer in relation to UKCA/CE concerns.
  7. Keeping abreast of new machinery directives and legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all HSE legislation whilst maintaining existing company policies and procedures.
  8. CMSE – Certified Machinery Safety Expert qualified

To be considered for this exciting opportunity within a genuinely unique environment, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 5 years’ experience gained within a special purpose machinery design or manufacturing environment, ideally within an industrial automation or engineering environment, and be Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) qualified.
