We are delighted to be partnered with our successful and professional client as they seek to recruit a Part Time Health and Safety Manager to join their team at their offices in Burgess Hill. My client has a great reputation within their specialist field and offers a great environment in which to work. This role is a part time position for 24 hours / 3 days per week. Flexibility will be offered along with occasional home working.

Part Time Health and Safety Manager

Part time permanent role - 24 hours per week

Negotiable on days / times

Role based in Burgess Hill with plenty of free parking for staff on site.

Salary: GBP 30,000 per year - this is what you'd earn for part time 24 hours per week. Great company benefits, including an excellent pension scheme along with life assurance and medical cover.

The role - Part Time Health and Safety Manager

The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the development, administration, and maintenance of the Health & Safety, Safety Management System, and Compliance Monitoring within the organisation.

A part of the role involves dealing with Safety and Compliance Monitoring, and full training will be provided for this part of the role.

Duties will include:

Health and Safety:

1. Implementing and maintaining Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance for the Company, its employees, and contractors.
2. Implementing and overseeing Environmental policies and ensuring compliance with current Legislation.
3. Ensuring staff have the relevant Health & Safety and Environmental training to carry out their tasks safely.
4. Investigating incidents where required and gathering all documentation in line with company policies.
5. Reviewing internal Risk Assessments.
6. Overseeing contractors' Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
7. Carrying out internal Audits, identifying areas for improvement.
8. Carrying out monthly building/safety inspections.
9. Carrying out Fire Safety Manager duties.

Safety Management: (Appropriate training will be given for this section of the role)

1. Act as the focal point for the development, administration, and maintenance of the organisation’s Safety Management System.
2. Facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis, and management.
3. Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks.
4. Provide periodic reports on safety performance.
5. Ensure maintenance of safety management documentation.
6. Ensure safety management training is available and meets acceptable standards.

Compliance Monitoring: (Appropriate training will be given for this section of the role)

1. Monitor the compliance of the organisation with all applicable regulatory requirements.
2. Ensure that the compliance monitoring programme is properly implemented, maintained, and continually reviewed and improved.
3. Ensure audits are conducted by suitable personnel.
4. Conduct an Annual review of Quality procedures.
5. Support customer audits on site as required.

Experience, competencies, and knowledge required:

1. NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
3. High level of personal professional integrity.
4. Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
5. Previous experience of working in the aviation sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
