Health and Safety and Environment Manager

Annual Salary: £55,371
Location: Sydenham and Orpington, London
Job Type: Full-time, 36 hours per week

My client is a well-established hospice, seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their dedicated Estates team in a vital role that coordinates and manages the organisation's health and safety practices while monitoring its environmental impact. This position is crucial for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment across all their locations in the Southeast London Region.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

1. Provide expert Health and Safety advice, assistance, and support across the organisation.
2. Ensure compliance with health and safety laws and organisational policies.
3. Oversee and improve environmental impact measures.
4. Conduct regular reviews and updates of health and safety policies and procedures.
5. Perform audits, risk assessments, and health and safety inspections across all sites.
6. Manage incident reporting and investigations.
7. Develop and deliver health and safety training and oversee environmental performance reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

1. Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
2. Chartered member of IOSH and holder of a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
3. IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management and FPA Fire Risk Assessment or equivalent.
4. Extensive knowledge of health and safety and environmental laws and regulations.
5. Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a healthcare or retail setting.
6. Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently and lead on health and safety discussions.
