A steel fabrication and structures company is now looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

Health and Safety Manager - Job Overview

The company is a market leading structural steelwork contractor supplying structural steelwork packages to the construction industry for over 50 years. Due to retirement, the position of Health and Safety Manager has become available. The person will need to have proven experience working in the construction industry and will be competent with the following responsibilities:

Health and Safety Manager - Responsibilities

1. Reporting directly to the Managing Director for HSQE.
2. Preparation and review of Safe systems of work including production of risk assessments for the business in the production facility and on-site, ensuring these meet current statutory and regulatory requirements.
3. Conduct HSQE audits and surveillance inspections and lead any accident, incident and Near Miss reporting.
4. Managing and leading the pre-qualification process with Achilles, Construction Line and the various customer pre-qualification databases.
5. Pre-qualification and auditing of our sub-contractors and suppliers.
6. Preparing reports on near misses and minor accidents.
7. Ensure adequate training and records of employees on health and safety matters.

Health and Safety Manager - Qualifications

The ideal candidate MUST come from the construction industry as a Health and Safety Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:

1. Ideally hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety.
2. Ideally be a member of IOSH and working towards CMIOSH.
3. The ideal candidate would have experience working for a Steel Structures company.
4. Ideally hold a full UK driving licence.
