HSE Manager – Civil Engineering & Groundworks

Location: Exeter
Rate: £350 - £450 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Temp to Perm

A leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join their team on a high-profile project in Exeter. This role starts on a contract basis, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implement and oversee health, safety, and environmental policies on-site
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards
3. Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
4. Provide guidance and training to site teams to promote a strong safety culture
5. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions where necessary
6. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to maintain high safety standards

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as an HSE Manager in the civil engineering or groundworks sector
2. Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations
3. NEBOSH Construction or equivalent qualification
4. Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and site inspections
5. Excellent communication and leadership skills
