Our client is an SME food manufacturing company on a journey to develop the site and scale the business over the next few years. With a focus on health, safety, and a supportive workplace culture, they're now seeking a proactive Health & Safety Manager to join their team and drive their commitment to creating a safe and productive working environment.

As the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees across the site. You'll lead, develop, and implement safety policies, create awareness programs, and maintain compliance with both company standards and legal requirements. Your expertise will be vital in shaping the company's H&S culture and driving continuous improvements to enhance overall safety performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive health & safety policies and procedures.
  2. Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend improvements.
  3. Oversee training and education programs to ensure employees understand and comply with safety protocols.
  4. Collaborate with departmental leaders to integrate H&S initiatives across the site and ensure safety standards are consistently maintained.
  5. Manage accident investigations, incident reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  6. Stay current with relevant health and safety regulations and best practices within the food manufacturing sector.
  7. Prepare and present H&S performance reports to senior management.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be passionate about health and safety, with a strong background in the food industry. You're an effective communicator with a keen eye for detail, capable of leading a team, and confident in making decisions that enhance workplace safety.

Essential Requirements:

  1. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent H&S qualification.
  2. Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager in a food manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the food sector.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  5. Detail-oriented and proactive, with a passion for promoting a positive safety culture.
