With a strong reputation for excellence, we are currently embarking on a landmark project valued between £40,000,000 - £80,000,000. To ensure the safety and success of this project, we are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager with a background in main contracting within the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the health and safety function for the project, overseeing the development and implementation of robust health and safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to project teams on health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and assess risks, implementing proactive measures to prevent accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organisation.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay abreast of changes in health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices, incorporating new developments into our health and safety management systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager within the construction industry, with a strong background in main contracting.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- In-depth knowledge of construction health and safety regulations, legislation, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach to health and safety management.
