Are you ready to take on a senior health and safety leadership role within a rapidly evolving and large company in the manufacturing sector?

We are recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager on behalf of a leading organisation that operates across the UK. This role offers the chance to lead Health and Safety across multiple UK-based operational facilities and site-based activities, ensuring compliance with the highest standards.

The Health and Safety Manager role is critical in shaping the health and safety strategy, with the ability to influence long-term performance and culture.

The role will be a very operational position and the company offer a full hybrid policy which includes working from home. You will have healthy challenges throughout the working day with the opportunity to develop a strong safety culture throughout the division.

Key responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager:

  • Lead, manage, and assure the health and safety strategy and systems across the business unit.
  • Promote and enhance a positive health and safety culture, fostering collaboration across all levels of staff.
  • Engage in leadership meetings to ensure continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental performance.
  • Implement and manage health and safety policies and standards, including conducting audits and inspections.
  • Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and business requirements.
  • Provide strategic direction on health and safety performance, developing and reporting key metrics.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the health and safety function, inspiring growth and learning among the team.
  • Ensure all incidents, including accidents and near misses, are reported and investigated thoroughly.
  • Deliver health and safety training and support across the business, promoting continual learning and improvement.

The right Health and Safety Manager will have:
  • A NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Manufacturing / transportation / fabrication / industrial backgrounds.
  • Experience in a senior health and safety role driving cultural and organisational change.
  • Strong leadership skills, with proven experience in developing and delivering health and safety strategies.
  • A full UK driving license and willingness to travel across various locations.
