Job description

Job Description

We have a new opportunity to be part of our Operations function in the role of Health & Safety Director.

As the Health & Safety Director, you will lead the strategic vision, development, and delivery of a world-class health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture across all areas of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will shape and embed the long-term direction of health and safety to protect our people, facilities, and reputation—ensuring we operate at the highest standards of compliance and care both at our Silverstone campus and globally at events.

You will be responsible for championing a proactive safety culture across the business, leading risk mitigation strategies, ensuring robust Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), and overseeing our emergency response readiness. As a senior leader, you will guide cross-functional collaboration, influence key stakeholders, and partner with HR, Legal, Talent Development, and technical teams to integrate HSE best practice into every aspect of our operations. You will also lead a high-performing health and safety team, ensuring their ongoing development, alignment with Team values, and delivery of measurable excellence.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • A degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field, with recognised qualifications such as the NEBOSH Diploma or IOSH Chartered status.
  • Significant leadership experience in a senior HSE role within a high-risk, fast-paced environment—ideally in motorsport, engineering, automotive, or aerospace.
  • Demonstrated success in driving cultural transformation and embedding health and safety into strategic and operational frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of international HSE legislation and standards (including ISO 45001), with a robust understanding of risk assessment, incident investigation, crisis response, and compliance monitoring.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at board and executive level while supporting front-line teams.
  • Experience managing complex safety functions, leading teams, and implementing training, development, and performance systems.
  • A data-driven, analytical mindset with strong reporting capabilities to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Highly organised, pragmatic, and confident under pressure, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced presentation and reporting skills.

This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.

We are a business that fosters a supportive, inclusive, and compassionate culture, where our team genuinely embodies our core values: Growth, Readiness, Empowerment, Excellence, and Nurturing.
