You will take the lead on carrying out Health & Safety contractual service visits, providing documentation, advice, and assistance as required. The Health & Safety Department is looking for hardworking professionals with a high level of technical knowledge and experience. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with your clients and deliver a high-quality, cost-effective consultancy service.

Ideally, you will be educated to degree/diploma level at GradIOSH or CMIOSH level.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

1. Conduct yourself in a professional manner (including appearance, use of PPE, communication, etc.) ensuring compliance with company and departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
2. Visit clients and provide an in-person experience to support and advise where necessary.
3. Investigate incidents and accidents, recommending preventative measures.
4. Undertake health and safety visits to client premises in accordance with departmental protocols and contract requirements, particularly where SLAs are in place.
5. Submit relevant reports or associated documents in accordance with client demand and departmental protocols.
6. Advise and instruct clients in the use of Health and Safety Management systems and other relevant technical documents and online services.
7. Act as the client’s personal H&S lead to support and streamline any processes or queries.
8. Advise clients on matters of Health and Safety standards and best practices affecting their business.
9. Manage time effectively to provide an efficient service to clients.
10. Attend company meetings, courses, etc. when required to update and maintain professional skills/knowledge.
11. Maintain cleanliness and security of your company vehicle.
12. Support clients through effective crisis management when required.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety rules and regulations.
2. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
3. Confidence in providing practical solutions to clients regarding H&S.
4. Ability to deliver a high-quality consultancy service within commercial boundaries.
5. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
6. Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to ongoing changes.
7. Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
8. Attention to detail to spot various hazards and complete investigations.
9. Process-driven with the ability to use initiative.
10. Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
11. Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
