Job Opportunity: SHEQ Advisor

Position: SHEQ Advisor

Location: Co Tyrone, Omagh/Northern Ireland

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Join a leading civil engineering contractor in Omagh, Co Tyrone, as a SHEQ Advisor. This is your opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across diverse construction projects, including Northern Ireland Rail. Occasional night shifts may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regularly review, update, and communicate all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies, procedures, and regulations.
  2. Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations; compile reports and ensure consistent compliance.
  3. Oversee the completion and regular review of Method Statements and risk assessments.
  4. Document and investigate accidents and near misses, implementing recommended improvements.
  5. Provide site induction for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  6. Plan and coordinate SHEQ-related training for employees.
  7. Maintain and update all relevant SHEQ department administration.
  8. Assist in developing required documentation for compliance with OHSAS 45001:2018, ISO 14001/2015, and ISO 9001/2015 standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. NEBOSH OHAS Qualification Certificate (held for at least 2 years).
  2. Environmental and Quality qualifications are advantageous.
  3. Familiarity with OHSAS 45001 or 18001 and ISO 14001/9001 implementation.
  4. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the construction sector; knowledge of rail or windfarm works is beneficial but not essential.
  5. Excellent communication and team-building skills.
  6. Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  7. Proactive problem-solving skills.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  9. A clean driving license is essential for site travel.
