Due to the retirement of the current Headteacher, the governors, staff and children of Crown Meadow First School and Nursery are seeking to appoint a new headteacher to lead, inspire and develop our popular and thriving school. Crown Meadow First School and Nursery is a caring, inclusive school at the heart of the Alvechurch community.

About Us:

Our last OFSTED inspection (November 2021) recognised that Crown Meadow is a Good school, and a caring school and that adults teach pupils the school values of empathy, diversity, curiosity, independence, and resilience from when children start in Nursery. As a result, the relationships built in school between adults and pupils are respectful. Pupils say they are happy at school, enjoy their learning and have positive relationships with their friends.

Leaders at Crown Meadow have high aspirations for what they want pupils to achieve and continually look at how they can make the school even better. Governors and school staff share high expectations of what pupils can achieve, with the aim being that they become confident, motivated learners who are well prepared for their next schools and the challenges beyond.

We are looking to recruit a Headteacher who:

• Demonstrates strong leadership skills which will continue to empower and inspire our dedicated staff to be the very best they can be
• Strives for ambitious outcomes for children within a nurturing and inclusive environment, which recognises the needs of all learners
• Will champion our more vulnerable learners
• Has the skills, knowledge and experience to make the most of the school’s resources in a challenging financial environment
• Is visible, approachable and has the resilience to meet the day-to-day challenges of headship
• Identifies priorities for pupils and the school in collaboration with stakeholders, placing these at the forefront of decision making
• Evidences a strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Shows a commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse school environment
• Will lead the school community with ambition, enthusiasm and a continuous drive towards excellence
• Will successfully lead the school in this ever-changing educational landscape
• Has a clear educational philosophy and vision, which will focus on raising achievement and standards across the whole school
• Maintains our culture of high expectations of attainment and progress
• Will lead by example in promoting our pupils’ welfare, learning, emotional well-being and happiness

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed and tours of the school will be held on:

• Tuesday 12th November - am
• Wednesday 13th November - pm
• Wednesday 20th November – after school

Shortlisting will take place on Tuesday 25th November during the afternoon.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th December.

Meet and greet with staff and Governors at the end of day 1 interview, 10th December.

References will be requested prior to the interview process.
