We are looking for a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our fabulous team! You will be responsible for leading the nursing team and coordinating the delivery of the clinical agenda. You will assist and work alongside the Clinical Director to ensure that Health and Safety within the practice is upheld. You will also be responsible for ensuring there is a collaborative culture of teamwork and, working with the wider clinical team, you will help to ensure that best practice standards are applied to every aspect of our service. The responsibilities will also include managing stock levels and stock take, monitoring staff performance and coordinating appraisals and meetings, training of staff, equipment maintenance, complete staff rotas, log sickness and holidays and perform return to work meetings, deal with minor complaints or issues with clients and/or staff members, perform nurse consultations, and become involved with patient care. Further training is encouraged and funded.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, which can be negotiated, and a share in the Saturday rota. The role will not be required to cover any out-of-hours provision. Salary up to £35,000 DOE.
Byre Veterinary Surgery is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility. We have the most up-to-date facilities including endoscope, laparoscopy, ultrasound and much more! We offer exotics and ophthalmology referrals and have the facilities to provide orthopaedic and soft-tissues referrals in addition to this.
Byre Veterinary Surgery is situated on the edge of Peterborough. Whilst being close to the convenience and excellent transport links of a city, the area promotes the idyllic country lifestyle, with Stamford, the home of Burghley Horse Trials, less than half an hour away, delivering the perfect balance of necessity and luxury. Currently we have 4 Veterinary Surgeons (one being a diplomat in exotics), 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Veterinary Care Assistant and 5 Receptionists.
Ideal candidate will be an existing and experienced HVN or an experienced RVN that is looking to take the next step in their career. Some understanding of complex personnel management processes and a good understanding of the financial aspects of running a veterinary practice would be advantageous.
