Bracken Vets is a busy small animal Veterinary practice in central Bracknell within walking distance of The Lexicon, 5 minutes from the M4 and close access to Heathrow airport. You would be working alongside a team of 7 Vets, 4 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 2 PCAs and 5 receptionists. Our current HVN is taking a step back from management to focus on family, but remains within our close knit team.
We have high standards of care and expertise carrying out advanced surgeries and working up complex medical cases. Our nurses' skills are valued and used every day; and we are always wanting to develop utilisation of schedule 3. We would welcome someone to be innovative with what our nursing team can offer and develop them further. Our practice is very well equipped, with two theatres, separate dental and separate imaging, separate dog and cat wards, a nurse consulting room and a large prep area. We are a progressive practice who are invested in providing the best care we can for our clients and their pets. Our availability of modern equipment and excellent facilities helps us to achieve this.
Our current nurses are a progressive group, with a DipCVN/DipAVN, certificate in anaesthesia and critical care and a medicine nursing certificate in progress. Among our vets we have an Advanced Practitioner in Small animal medicine, with others working towards certificates in surgery, medicine and diagnostic imaging. We are accredited as an RCVS GP practice, with awards in Client Service (Outstanding), Patient Consultation Service (Outstanding) and Diagnostic Service (good) and are keen to work towards further awards. We have Silver ISFM Cat Friendly status.
You will ideally have either a further clinical qualification or management experience so you can guide our team forwards and make us even better! We will happily support your further development. We are a nurse training practice so we would need someone who would be happy to be a clinical coach for SVNs (training provided if needed). We would welcome full time with some flexibility. Participation in the Saturday rota (8am to 1pm) on a 1:4 basis. There is no OOH. Salary up to £38,000 DOE.
