Head Vet required at YourVets Dagenham
Up to £80,000 per annum DOE

An exciting time to join YourVets Dagenham as it embarks on its journey to become a hospital site. The practice has excellent transport links nearby and is an easy commute to Central London and Essex. With Southend-on-Sea a close drive away for easy access to the seaside. Our practice is well equipped with digital X-ray and ultrasonography, latest in-house laboratory and dental equipment, separate theatre, lab and x-ray suites and separate dog, cat and isolation wards. We are Feline friendly and ISFM registered.

YourVets Dagenham is searching for a Head Vet to join their client-focused team. Collaborating with the practice manager, practice director, and head nurse, there is an opportunity for an ambitious Head Vet to create practice priorities and drive it forward clinically.

A busy practice with a varied caseload, you will have encouragement to work up your own cases and further develop your surgical skills.

The role of the Senior Vet includes:
  • Support Practice Director by leading and driving clinical standards in the practice, ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Line-managing the veterinary team, performing check-ins, helping with competency and salary reviews, and writing the vets' rota with the Practice Manager to ensure needs and demands of clients are met.
  • Collaborating with the Practice Director to optimise client service and business growth, budgeting, and finances.
  • Ensuring all care aligns with the RCVS Code of Professional Conduct and delivers appropriate medical and surgical care, attending scheduled clinical meetings.
  • Experienced in undertaking emergency procedures such as exploratory laparotomies, pleural effusion drainage, and bladder unblocking for male cats.
  • Driving forward the practice in forward-thinking medical and clinical techniques.
  • Build client and patient relationships through gold-standard level of care, communication, and service.
