Job Description

1. Establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.
2. Analyse the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.
3. Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software.
4. Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management.
5. Coordinate IT managers and supervise computer scientists, technicians and other professionals.
6. Control budget and report on expenditure.
7. Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Head of Technology' should have:

1. Proven experience as a Head of Technology or similar leadership role.
2. Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy.
3. Understanding of budgets and business-planning.
4. Ability to conduct technological analyses and research.
