Head of Supply Chain Management

Head of Supply Chain | Woodstock | £55,000pa - £65,000pa plus bonus & benefits:

An industry leading scientific device manufacturer, who spun out of the University of Oxford, is looking to recruit a Head of Supply Chain to lead and manage a small friendly Supply Chain function. This excellent opportunity combines team leadership, supply chain improvement including strategic sourcing, demand planning, on-time delivery, supplier relationships, and negotiations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily supply chain activities: identify material needs, negotiate prices and delivery, and work closely with the purchasing team to support them with the order process.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to support business growth.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.
• Evaluate, monitor, and report on supplier performance, addressing issues as needed.
• Support inventory control during stock counts and resolve discrepancies.

Essential Experience & Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a Supply Chain or Procurement Management role.
• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge and use of SAP-B1, SAGE200, or similar integrated ERP systems.
• Dynamic individual with keen problem-solving abilities, “think on your feet,” and a desire to always do better.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Able to provide and take part in 360° Feedback.
• Excellent time and people management skills when dealing with multiple projects and tasks on a daily basis.
• A specific focus on attention to detail.
• A background in shipping low to medium-volume manufactured scientific instrumentation would be highly desirable.

Our client offers a competitive salary, £55,000pa to £65,000pa plus benefits, which includes a bonus, company contributory pension, death in service insurance, 25 days annual holiday plus public holidays.
