Accounting For Sustainability (A4S) is seeking a brilliant Head of Strategic Partnerships to expand income from trusts, foundations, and corporates, helping to strengthen their lasting impact.
Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) is a global charity established by HM King Charles III in 2004, when he was the Prince of Wales, “to help ensure that we are not battling to meet 21st-century challenges with, at best, 20th-century decision-making and reporting systems”.
We work at the most senior levels across the global business and finance community to inspire action to drive a fundamental shift towards resilient business models and a sustainable economy.
A4S was established by HM King Charles III in 2004, when he was The Prince of Wales, to transform finance to make sustainable business, business as usual. Today we work with leading CFOs, finance managers, business schools, regulators, standard setters and more, to drive a fundamental shift towards resilient business models and a sustainable economy.
We are excited to be creating a new role of Head of Strategic Partnerships to develop our fundraising strategy, secure additional philanthropic income from existing and new foundations and corporate supporters, and ensure that good relationships are maintained. The timing of the new role aligns with the development of A4S’s overarching strategy to 2030, representing an exciting opportunity to help shape and grow not only fundraising activities but also A4S’s mission.
Our standard working week is 37.5 hours. The role can be hybrid (if in the UK) or remote (if in the US). We are currently piloting a ‘four-day week’, working Monday to Thursday plus an average of once Friday in four.
We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser with a track record in securing and stewarding high-value trust and foundation partnerships. The role involves overseeing the full fundraising cycle, from identifying potential funders to developing proposals and producing clear, informative reports.
The successful candidate will have a strategic approach and strong relationship management skills, with experience working with both philanthropic foundations and corporate funders. An interest in the intersection of sustainability and finance, and the ability to adapt, will be valuable in this role.
With experience securing seven-figure, multi-year funding, you’ll have a deep understanding of the international funding landscape and a flair for turning complex ideas into persuasive proposals.
You will have successfully developed and implemented fundraising strategies for the not-for-profit sector, with a track record of securing multi-year support and a strong understanding of the international funding landscape as it relates to sustainability.
You will be comfortable working at both the strategic and operational levels, with excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. You will also have excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to work independently and prioritize your own workload. You will have a working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
A4S offers a competitive range of benefits, a good work-life balance, employee growth and development, and a vibrant organizational culture.
You’ll join a small team of about 45, who are based primarily in and around London as well as in Europe, the APAC region and North America. You’ll interact and work with most of your colleagues and stay in the loop on the full extent of our programmes. We value our people, and strive for a collaborative, supportive and non-hierarchical structure.
Our dedicated office is in Mindspace Shoreditch – a vibrant, modern and dog-friendly co-working space which hosts weekly events including brunches, after-work socials and the occasional ping pong evening! We also organize our own team lunches, park days and away days – with team volunteering days also on the horizon.
The benefits outlined below are specific to UK employees, however, we strive to provide similar benefits for staff in other locations.
