Head of School - Specialist SEN School (Chorley) - Permanent
A specialist SEN school in Chorley is looking for an experienced Head of School to provide strong leadership and drive positive outcomes for students with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team in a school that supports young people aged 11-18 with a range of complex needs.
As Head of School, you will be responsible for:
Providing effective leadership to ensure the school meets its aims and objectives
Delivering outstanding student outcomes that reflect their individual needs and abilities
Creating a safe and supportive environment that protects the welfare of students and staff
Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, including those set by the DfE and Ofsted, working alongside the Executive Headteacher
Developing and leading a motivated team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
Supporting the commercial success of the school, including student admissions, cost management, and future growth plans
Minimum Requirements:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is required
NPQH (highly desirable but not essential)
Proven leadership experience in an SEN or specialist school setting
Strong understanding of autism, complex needs, and behavioural challenges
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A proactive and strategic mindset to drive school development
A valid driving licence is desirable
