Job description

My Client, a large Fire Protection Company based in the North of England, with Southern based Satellite offices, offers a superb opportunity in a newly created role to head up the Fire Risk Assessment Divisions of their business.


The Company has recently implemented Microsoft Business Software / Technology which provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to embrace this new technology in the development of the Risk Assessment Division.


About the Role

Management of a team of Assessors, actively lead the delivery, development and growth of Fire Risk Assessment Services provided across the Company.

  1. Look to join BAFE SP205 3rd Party FRA management scheme at the earliest point.
  2. Assess geographical need and recruit sufficient Fire Risk Assessors to ensure efficient delivery in all areas of the UK.
  3. Manage a portfolio of external Fire Risk Assessment Consultants.
  4. Act as Lead Consultant along with providing technical support to the wider Group to achieve profitable growth through the provision of Fire Risk Assessments.
  5. Work collaboratively with other people across the businesses to provide and present a seamless client experience.
  6. Develop standardised quality client reporting for all levels of Risk Assessment.
  7. Keep up to date with current legislation.
  8. Assist in growing the customer base through collaboration with stakeholders across the Group.
  9. Support the growth of customer relationships with both existing and new clients by fully understanding their needs and delivering technically excellent services in line with agreed deliverables.
  10. Uphold, encourage and ensure the company culture and behaviours are always displayed and adhered to within the FRA team and promote these across other teams.

The Individual

More than 5 years' experience of delivering high level Fire Risk Assessments.

Qualified to validate Fire Risk Assessments in line with BAFE SP205 requirements (Level 4 Diploma or higher).

Personal independent registration with, or certification from, a professional body (IFE, IFSM, IFPO etc) or certification body (BAFE, Warrington) and/or at 'Advanced' level as defined by latest draft of BS8674 Annexe B.

Previous experience of management in the fire protection industry.

Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
