Head of Public Sector Marketing

Location: UK, London
Length: Start Date: Asap – End Date: 10th October 2025
Rate: £48.08 p/h (Inside IR35)
Hours: 40 hours per week

Role:
The Head of Public Sector Marketing is responsible for creating and leading marketing strategies aimed at government agencies and public organizations. They manage campaigns, build relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure marketing efforts follow regulations. The role also involves staying updated on industry trends to drive brand awareness and long-term partnerships in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Marketing Projects: Take initiative to drive marketing outcomes for products/projects by managing tasks and guiding workstreams.
  • Conduct Research & Analysis: Lead user research, and market analysis, and gather insights to provide recommendations to the team about products and features.
  • Develop User Journeys: Work with different teams to create user journeys and lifecycle strategies for current and future consumers.
  • Identify Growth Opportunities: Find ways to grow user numbers, increase engagement with new features, and boost adoption of existing features.
  • Create Marketing Strategies: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute marketing strategies and plans.
  • Project Management: Help define project scopes, manage priorities, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Set & Measure Goals: Set ambitious but achievable goals, then track and measure success.
  • Lead Projects: Plan and manage projects, ensuring everything stays on track and is completed on time.
  • Manage Stakeholder Interests: Balance competing priorities from different teams and keep everyone updated on project progress.
  • Proactively Find Opportunities: Look for new ways to improve processes and drive business growth.
  • Solve Problems: Use different approaches to solve problems and find the best solutions.
  • Build New Processes: Create new processes, methods, and features to address future challenges.
  • Make Smart Business Decisions: Prioritize the most impactful ideas that will drive growth and make decisions confidently.

Main focus areas:

  • Drive mind-share and demand-generation activities such as events, social, and advocacy programs
  • Track and analyse the effectiveness of our marketing activities to monitor ROI and progress against key business objectives
  • Generate demand for Cloud products by landing integrated campaigns and marketing activities in the UK Public Sector
  • Create and execute UK Public Sector marketing activities, working with multiple, matrixed stakeholders to craft messaging, content, and channel strategy

Collaboration & Influence:

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with different teams to align resources, strategies, and goals to scale work effectively
  • Mentor Junior Team Members: Support and guide junior team members and help them get up to speed with their roles
  • Build Relationships: Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, offering guidance and support
  • Align with Partners: Make sure all teams and partners understand and align with each other’s goals
  • Manage External Partners: Manage relationships with agencies, contractors, or vendors to ensure quality work and timely delivery
  • Coordinate Timelines & Goals: Make sure all related project timelines and goals are integrated and aligned

  • Subject Matter Expert: Be the go-to person for marketing programs and product knowledge
  • Deep Product Knowledge: Use your expertise in products, user insights, messaging, and brand strategy to guide the team
  • Stay Updated: Continuously stay informed on industry trends and product landscapes

  • Confident Presentations: Present ideas clearly to cross-functional teams and influence decisions through presentations
