Job Title: Head of Professional Services
Location: Surrey or the South of England (Hybrid / Remote)
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 plus benefits

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Professional Services to lead and shape our project management and delivery team. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the successful delivery of client-funded projects, manage a talented team of project managers and engineers, and ensure that all projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, outstanding leadership abilities, and a passion for driving successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Team Management:
    Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Service Delivery Managers. Foster a high-performance, collaborative team environment. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback and development opportunities.
  2. Project Management:
    Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of client-funded projects. Ensure projects are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues to ensure project success.
  3. Client Engagement:
    Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders on project-related matters. Build and nurture strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction. Effectively manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Strategic Planning:
    Contribute to the development and refinement of project management strategies and methodologies. Ensure alignment between project management practices and organisational goals. Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
  5. Resource Management:
    Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success and meet deadlines. Oversee project budgets and financials, ensuring efficient use of resources. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure resources are available and properly allocated.
  6. Reporting & Documentation:
    Prepare and present comprehensive project status reports to senior management and clients. Maintain thorough project documentation in accordance with company policies. Ensure all projects comply with organizational procedures and standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience managing technology deployments, including client-site projects.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing client-funded projects and large-scale initiatives.
  • Background in the Public Sector or Education is a bonus.
