Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to lead and oversee all procurement activities for Cakes & Bakes. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining quality standards across all locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives, optimizing cost, quality, and supply chain efficiency.
- Supplier Management: Identify, negotiate, and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of high-quality ingredients and products.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service agreements while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the procurement budget effectively, identifying cost-saving opportunities and tracking expenditures.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels to reduce waste and avoid shortages.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to enhance performance, efficiency, and professional growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the operations, product development, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with business goals.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor strategies, and new products to maintain a competitive edge in sourcing and procurement.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the food or retail industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS) is preferred.

- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of quality assurance and compliance standards.
