Head of Procurement - Manufacturing - Lancashire

My client is part of a global manufacturing operation, experiencing rapid expansion. The organisation benefits from rapid decision making, and a very healthy order book.

Description

As the Head of Procurement you will:

1. Assess the current team capability, and support develop, and build a structure that will deliver high performance
2. Build a strong internal network to ensure early engagement on projects, and Procurement is aligned to goals
3. Build an agile supply chain, that has the capability to ramp up as required
4. Work closely with operations and supply chain to ensure the order book is delivered
5. Invest time in supplier relationships, to counter the lack of capacity in global markets

Profile

The ideal candidate will be:

1. Proven operating at a leadership level (Head of Procurement) in a complex, manufacturing environment
2. Able to demonstrate how they have supported an operation to ramp up from zero to mass production
3. Have a track record in metals procurement, including subcontract processes (castings, forging, machining, surface finishes)
4. Comfortable operating at pace
5. Strong awareness of the E2E supply chain, and used to managing risk accordingly
