We are working with a well-established multi-office law firm who are looking to appoint a Head of Private Family Law to work from their Coventry office, and drive the Family Law Department forward over three offices.

This is a fabulous new opportunity for an experienced Private Family Lawyer to lead an established Private Family Law Department, offering leadership, guidance, expertise, and strategic direction to the team.

You will be well supported in this role by support staff and colleagues and will enjoy working in an empowering, autonomous, collaborative and client-focused working environment.

The Role Will Involve

  • Managing your own high-quality caseload of privately funded family law matters from enquiry through to resolution
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and direction to an experienced family law team in a collaborative, client-focused environment
  • Advocacy work
  • Advising clients on matters pertaining to:
    • divorce and separation
    • prenuptial agreements
    • finance and property division
    • cohabitation and property rights
    • civil partnership issues
    • Children Act matters
    • domestic violence and injunctions
    • financial matters

Suitable Candidates Will Have

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within private family law
  • Experience of running a private family law caseload including complex matters, from instruction to resolution
  • Strong leadership skills
  • A consistent billing history
  • Good client care skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage your time

This is a full-time permanent job, working Monday to Friday. Home working is available one day per week. Flexible working hours (8am to 4pm or 8.30am to 4.30pm) will be accommodated two days per week. Core working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with an hour’s lunch break every day.
