Head of People and Organisational Development

Prospectus is delighted to be recruiting for a Head of People and Organisational Development for a London-based student union where individuals connect, have fun, build communities, share experiences, and make change.

Please note this role is offered on a hybrid basis, but flexible office working patterns can be arranged for the right candidate. The candidate is expected to be in the office a minimum of one day per week, slightly more when starting in the role.

The main purpose of this role is to oversee the operational delivery of the HR service within the student's union, ensuring a high-quality service covering areas such as recruitment & selection, onboarding, performance management, learning & development, reward, remuneration (including payroll), and employee relations.

You will develop, implement, and oversee HR Systems and Processes in line with the union’s overall objectives. Additionally, you will support a culture that values diversity and inclusion, ensuring that the union's HR practices promote equal opportunities and respect for all staff. This role is pivotal in supporting the union's position as an employer of choice, fostering an environment that nurtures talent, enhances productivity, and encourages a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and mutual respect.

The successful candidate will have significant HR management experience, with a proven track record of success. Extensive knowledge of HR principles, including UK employment legislation, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
