Head of Operations and Product Engineering

Stannah has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Operations and Product Engineering to join the Manufacturing & Product Engineering Department based at our Andover site. This job will involve taking overall responsibility for all aspects of our stairlift manufacturing operations, leading our Product Engineering team, and driving operational efficiency through process improvement, strategic investment, and team development.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced manufacturing and engineering professional with a strong background in leadership, process improvement, and operational strategy. To be successful as the Head of Operations and Product Engineering, it is essential that you have previous experience in senior manufacturing leadership, lean manufacturing operational excellence, and team development. Experience in product innovation, and multi-site management is an advantage.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee all aspects of stairlift manufacturing and product engineering.
  2. Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams across multiple sites.
  3. Drive operational efficiency through process improvements and strategic investments.
  4. Implement world-class manufacturing tools and lean methodologies.
  5. Ensure the highest standards of health and safety in manufacturing operations.
  6. Manage budgets, financial performance, and operational metrics.
  7. Act as a key stakeholder in product development and manufacturing integration.
  8. Collaborate with senior management and key stakeholders to align business strategy.
Requirements:
  1. Extensive experience in senior manufacturing leadership within a relevant industry.
  2. Strong background in engineering, operational strategy, and process improvement.
  3. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  4. Experience implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  5. Excellent financial and commercial acumen, including budget management.
  6. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
