Job Description

The Head of Operational Risk & Resilience will be responsible for:

Operational risk:
  • Developing and implementing an operational risk management and control framework.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor prospective and materialised operational risks across the UK Personal Investor platform. Report on risk insights and trends.
  • Develop and drive implementation of risk mitigation strategies and controls.
  • Collaborate with Oversight teams to ensure effective risk management practices and controls are in place.
  • Provide training and awareness programs on operational risk management.
  • Lead and coordinate Operational Risk input into RCSAs and ICARAs.
Third party risk:
  • Manage relationships with operational third-party vendors.
  • Maintain strong internal control frameworks for vendor performance, cost management, risk assessments, and service governance.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure vendor service arrangements meet regulatory and enterprise standards.
  • Prepare documentation of operational models for regulators and independent auditors.
  • Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of vendor performance dashboards, management reports, and executive summaries.
  • Coordinate and support the development and execution of Third-Party assessments. Build strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Identify, propose, and deliver resolutions for gaps.
Operational Resilience:
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the business's operational resilience.
  • Identify critical business services and processes and assess their vulnerability to disruptions.
  • Work with IT and other departments to ensure robust workarounds are in place.
  • Monitor and report on operational resilience metrics and performance.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Head of Operational Risk & Resilience should have:

  • Experience working in a Senior Risk position previously.
  • Experience of Op Risk, Resilience, and 3rd Party Risks.
  • Exposure to senior leaders.
  • Financial Services experience.
