Job Summary

In this pivotal role at IWM North, you will lead the creation and delivery of IWM’s Masterplan, a transformative programme aimed at enhancing the museum's visitor experience. This involves working collaboratively with communities and partners to bring the vision to life.

You will engage extensively with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure the Masterplan aligns with IWM North's strategic objectives and meets audience needs.

The Masterplan will be executed through a structured programme, involving project teams from various IWM departments and external consultants. Your role is to maintain the overarching vision, ensuring that all projects within the programme are professionally planned and managed to deliver the best possible outcomes for our audiences.

Key responsibilities include leading project teams, overseeing design and development phases, and integrating environmental sustainability, accessibility, and community engagement into the Masterplan. Additionally, you will manage project budgets, timelines, and risk management.

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of:

  • Collaborating effectively with audiences, community organisations, and partners to achieve shared goals.
  • Successfully delivering complex capital projects that meet strict quality, time, and budget criteria.
  • Building and leading multidisciplinary teams, and managing consultants (designers, architects, etc.) and contractors to ensure high standards and regulatory compliance.
