Head of Marketing & Sales

Do you have demonstrable experience in a senior marketing and sales role, ideally from a membership organisation, the non-profit sector or academic publishing? A professional membership organisation is seeking to appoint a Head of Marketing and Sales who will take responsibility for the organisation’s marketing and the development of pathways to new opportunities to grow income streams for long-term sustainability. Managing a small team, you will oversee all elements of the sales and marketing operation and will ensure that these activities are delivered to an excellent standard and in line with the organisation’s strategy.

Responsibilities include:

1. Oversee the recruitment, development and performance of your team, mentoring, supporting and guiding the team to support organisation objectives.
2. Direct and lead marketing and communications support for the development, launch and ongoing success of other key activities as agreed with departmental heads.
3. Develop the membership strategy, tactics and plan to support the retention and growth of organisation membership.
4. Establish marketing KPIs and communicate impact and results.
5. Provide support and guidance to team members, serving as the authoritative voice for marketing.
6. Manage budget responsibility for activities within the Marketing and Sales team.
7. Support the wider organisation with marketing materials and input into communications.

The successful person will have demonstrable experience in a senior marketing and sales role, from a similar organisation, strong strategic planning and analytical skills, and proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams. Proficient with digital marketing strategies, it is essential you have experience of CRM systems and data analytics. You will be a first-class team player, able to think creatively with a passion for understanding and meeting the needs of a variety of audiences. A degree in marketing, business, or communications, or CIM qualification will be important.
