You will be working for a very well-respected provider of engineering services. The organisation is UK-based and is a market leader within their field. They are private equity backed by a firm with an exceptional track record. This business is at the forefront of innovation and has exciting growth plans, including tripling in size in the next three years.
You will be responsible for the legal function in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment, and you will be a Senior Executive member within the business, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer with regular exposure to the C-suite. You will contribute legally, commercially, and strategically, and be responsible for compliance with all relevant laws, GDPR regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
In this position, you will be the Chief Advisor on any legal, corporate, and compliance matters to support the business. You will develop and implement the company's legal strategy in alignment with its overall objectives, monitor legal developments, and proactively advise on any potential impact on the business. You will be responsible for legal risk management and provide first-class support across a broad range of issues including commercial contracting, technology, corporate, regulatory, compliance, and data privacy. The role will have a corporate focus, and you will work very closely with the Head of M&A.
You will be an England & Wales or Commonwealth qualified lawyer with 8+ years PQE, by way of a guideline only. You will need to have experience in dealing with senior stakeholders and external counsel, and ideally have experience within the engineering sector (construction will also be considered). You will have extensive experience with corporate law, and previously being a corporate associate in private practice is a desirable requirement. You will be familiar with working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and have experience managing complex legal matters and providing strategic advice to senior executives. You will be well-versed in implementing new processes, for example, legal and compliance training programs, as well as having a growth mindset, good commercial acumen, and a pragmatic approach to exercising judgment in a complex business environment.
