The Role
They are looking for a Head of Landscape Management to be responsible for:
Managing all aspects of the maintenance of the green infrastructure within Poplar HARCA Estates.
Developing and delivering landscape improvement projects within the budget of the Landscape Management Department.
Managing the Landscape Management Department's budgets and ensuring value for money, competitive purchasing, and accountability for expenditure.
Ensuring the provision of an efficient and effective landscape management service.
Identifying, addressing, and resolving Landscape Maintenance Department staff issues in line with the organisation's procedures.
Liaising with all other departments within the organisation to ensure the goals of the Landscape Management Department are transparent and understood.
Working proactively with the Assistant Director of Estate Services in the procurement of new landscaping business and project managing external contracts.
Being proactive in identifying developments within the Landscape Industry and assessing the viability of their inclusion into the department.
Being the first point of contact for information and advice on all aspects of Landscape Management within the organisation.
Skills and Qualifications
Professional Qualifications in Landscape Maintenance and Tree Management.
PA1 and PA6 certification.
And/or comparable equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience and expertise.
Ability to manage, supervise and demonstrate:
A comprehensive herbicide programme.
A comprehensive machinery and equipment maintenance programme.
A comprehensive vehicle management system.
A comprehensive grass and shrub maintenance programme.
A comprehensive Tree Inspection, inventory and contract management programme.
A comprehensive Landscape Improvement programme.
Experience of managing staff within a land-based industry discipline.
Experience of identifying, addressing, and resolving staff issues.
Experience of successfully managing change in the workplace affecting staff members.
Experience of preparing and implementing a Landscape Maintenance programme.
