Head of Investment Reporting
Salary: Competitive
Location: Greater Manchester (hybrid working)
Duration: Permanent
Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a permanent highly skilled and experienced Head of Investment Reporting for a leading reputable financial services organisation based in Greater Manchester.
As a leading provider in the industry, they prioritize the ability to withstand and recover effectively from operational disruption. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the continued success of the business.
Reporting into the Group Finance Director, you will be responsible for leading the team accountable for the investment accounting process, including valuations and daily box management. You will oversee outsourced investment accounting, provide technical accounting support, and drive investment data controls. This role involves significant change management on new product types, ensuring timely delivery of new asset classes, products, and regulatory developments.
You will lead the management of the financial close process, which includes producing a full and complete ledger (interfaces, reconciliations, and both actuarial and financial journals) as well as cost, project, investment, and tax accounting for the Group and its subsidiary companies. This role includes ownership, control, and running of the daily box management process, resolving issues and reducing risk and exposure.
You will be provided with a supportive, collaborative, and open environment to think creatively. A key component of this role is building trusted and meaningful relationships with key stakeholders. You will provide credible insights and challenge, drawing on your business knowledge. Your role may include attending leadership committees focusing on identifying and mitigating strategic, operational, financial, and risk.
The ideal candidate will have significant relevant industry experience (financial services) with a demonstrable track record of undertaking similar roles. You will need strong experience in building a team (excellent delegation skills are a must) and have good investment accounting knowledge - if you don't understand a derivative from an OEIC, there's no point in applying!
The successful candidate will be operationally and commercially focused on business drivers and outcomes and can communicate complex financial matters clearly and precisely to various senior stakeholders.
You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to identify and assess risks, advise on mitigation strategies, make informed decisions, and create buy-in to the strategic vision.
You will be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You will be comfortable delivering constructive challenge, oversight, and advice to stakeholders.
You need great influencing and presentation skills coupled with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with all levels across the business.
You need strong commercial acumen and the ability to critically review work to identify potential issues, weaknesses, errors, and omissions. Our client is looking for somebody with a track record of success and an excellent academic record who is looking to take their next career step. This opportunity will offer you excellent exposure to the business and fantastic career prospects.
If you consider yourself to be a committed, career-driven professional who can demonstrate the above experience and would welcome the stimulus of this finance post, then we would be pleased to hear from you.
