Job Description:

Head of Financial Management and Digital Solutions required, to lead a team and drive the expansion of the Outsourcing department within an award-winning Accountancy firm in Essex.

Services offered include outsourced financial management and reporting, including management accounts, financial forecasting, budgeting, and bookkeeping with associated VAT returns preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the department with clear systems, procedures and training in place to ensure consistency of delivery and service standards.
  2. Represent and be accountable for all matters relating to the department, including client feedback with proactive stakeholder management.
  3. Accountable for delivering the client, people and business goals for the department (including employee engagement, client advocacy, revenue and department profitability).
  4. Continue to review, refine, and innovate the proposition in relation to the department’s service lines, working with the Service Delivery Director to develop strategies to deliver appropriate new services, including the implementation of the best technology and software platforms for both the department and our clients.
  5. Promote a fulfilling employee experience within the department and build a first-class team, both in terms of experience and qualifications.
  6. Work with other departments to ensure we are living our mission in supporting clients to achieve their aims, understanding their needs and expectations, as well as ensuring that as a firm we are maximizing our share of wallet opportunities.
  7. Work with the Marketing Team and business unit leaders in order to create strategies for winning additional work from prospective and existing clients.
  8. Be accountable for maintaining professional standards and compliance requirements across the department.
  9. Build a network of business advisors (legal, bankers & lenders) to complement the department’s offering.
  10. Manage and assess resource requirements of the department to ensure client, business and people goals are met.
Experience and Qualifications:
  1. Demonstrable experience and understanding of digital solutions, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel and experience with Power BI tools.
  2. Track record of identifying, developing and delivering profitable outsourced and digital services.
  3. ACA, ACCA or similar qualification preferred.
  4. Demonstrable experience with managing others and/or managing strategic projects.
  5. Ability to demonstrate a growth mindset to drive new service lines, as well as looking ahead to potential future services the department can offer.
