Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Head of Finance (Treasury) for our Local Authority client.

The Responsibilities of the Head of Finance (Treasury) will include:

1. Act as a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, contributing to the overall strategic direction and leadership of the Council's financial services.
2. Lead the preparation, maintenance, and delivery of the Treasury Strategy and Policy.
3. Ensure the Treasury Strategy aligns with the financial objectives and statutory obligations.
4. Continually reassess the treasury position considering developments in the capital programme and financial markets.
5. Manage the cash flows, short-term investments, and both short-term and long-term borrowing.
6. Ensure full compliance with the approved Treasury Management Strategy Statement.
7. Advise the Director of Finance on the optimal duration and timing for long-term borrowing, including from different sources.
8. Ensure timely re-letting of service contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.

The Ideal candidate for the Head of Finance (Treasury) will have:

1. Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, ACA).
2. Significant experience in treasury management and public sector finance.
3. Strong leadership and strategic management skills.
4. Strategic financial planning and management.
5. Effective leadership and team management.
6. Stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
