The Role

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to play a crucial role in driving financial performance, business strategy, and operational efficiency. Leading a small, high-performing finance team, you'll provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

The Head of Finance will:

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decisions.
  • Prepare Monthly Board Reports/business reviews and management reports while ensuring adherence to financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to provide financial insights and risk assessments.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies to enhance reporting and financial processes.
  • Coach and develop a high-performing finance team of two, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Engage with external finance institutions (banks & insurers), auditors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams, including occasional evening calls with New Zealand stakeholders.
  • Contribute to some office management tasks as part of a small office team.
About You

We're looking for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You'll bring:
  • 3+ years' experience in financial accounting, business partnering, or a similar commercial role.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Business + CPA/ACCA/CMA (or equivalent).
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced skills with financial software, AI tools, and both modern and legacy systems.
  • Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Ability to influence at board level and engage senior stakeholders confidently.
  • Ability to manage urgent demands while maintaining a solution-focused approach.
  • Experience in meat manufacturing or international business would be desirable.
